The four C's of diamonds are easy to identify: Carat, Cut, Color, Clarity. The four C's of a brand? Maybe not so much. Here, we ask Pietra's jewelry designers to tell us what makes up their four C's: who is their dream celebrity? What is a common trait of all their amazing clients? What is the most prized piece from their collection, and what is unique about their craft.

To Caroline Quinio (the woman behind PLAITLY) "creative" would be a gross understatement. Founded in 2017, PLAITLY is a fine jewelry brand deeply routed in architecture and experimentation. "I believe in the power of jewelry," Quinio says. "Jewelry can evoke an emotional response, like music. Or celebrate the human body, like dance. Or capture a moment in time, like drawing. Or tell a story, like a novel. Or evoke a sense of place, like architecture." Here, her 4 C's.

CELEBRITY

I would love to see Lady Gaga wearing my jewelry. She's so bold and stylish in an elegantly edgy way. To design a piece of jewelry for her would be such a dream!

CLIENT

My clients have an eye for unique designs that they can't find just anywhere. They are strong and confident and like standing out from the crowd.

COLLECTION

The Echappé Necklace is one of my most experimental pieces that really showcases my design philosophy because it's a true blend of digital and handcrafted processes. I also love creating any piece from Heliodon, my customizable jewelry collection, because I get to work with my clients in a more intimate one-on-one way and learn about their life stories and the special moments they want to commemorate in their jewelry.

CRAFT

My work explores the ever-evolving relationship between virtual and physical processes to redefine what it means for jewelry to be "handcrafted" in a digital age. I believe that there is a human touch in computer algorithms just as there is in lost wax metal casting. I am always striving to push boundaries and create forms and textures in my jewelry that are enriched by a blend of virtual and physical techniques in making jewelry.
