The four C's of diamonds are easy to identify: Carat, Cut, Color, Clarity. The four C's of a brand? Maybe not so much. Here, we ask Pietra's jewelry designers to tell us what makes up their four C's: who is their dream celebrity? What is a common trait of all their amazing clients? What is the most prized piece from their collection, and what is unique about their craft.
Marco Dell'Omo launched his eponymous fine jewelry line in 2017, without any formal experience. But you'd never be able to tell. His highly technical process make his planetary inspired pieces look like works of art.
CELEBRITY
Sara Sampaio. I met her in New York and I fell in love! Her attitude...she was so kind, so gentle, so humble! I think that, you know, when you arrive at some level, whatever is your work, you get there because you have this type of attitude. That inspires me.
CLIENT
Right now, she is a woman that's very, very sophisticated and elegant who knows about quality and what it means to have a special jewel. They're not buying Bulgari or Cartier, which are brands I love, but maybe they have a more sophisticated taste sometimes. Maybe they're looking for something that's going to express their attitude.
COLLECTION
The Ocean Drop collection that I started with. I decided to develop this collection as it was inspired by my love and passion for the sea. And it also has many meanings -- like, we are all drops from the same ocean. And I think it also reflects what I'm chasing. Simplicity and sophistication.
CRAFT
My process is quite unique. Everything is handmade. To be able to work with the tiny little diamonds and encapsulate them to these little jewels, it's a form of art. But my craftsmanship -- it's a one of a kind. The quality is very, very, very, very high.
